Positive: Absolutely stunning location and property for a 4 day stay on Waiheke Island. We’re a family of four, with two teenage boys, and this apartment was perfect. It is well appointed and very spacious including almost everything you need to cook meals, wash and dry clothes, relax at night watching Netflix or the stars. The owners Brett & Veronica, are wonderful hosts and made us feel at home from the minute we arrived. Our stay at La Bodega was fantastic, and we’d definitely return and stay here again.

Negative: The only reason we’d rate this 9 stars instead of 10 is the issue of bathroom privacy. The bathroom and shower faces the driveway of the property, and only has clear glass on the windows. No frosting, no blinds/shades to pull down whilst you shower, meaning anyone who ventured down the driveway could see everything. Some travellers might be comfortable with this, and others less so. When travelling with a family, we would have liked the right to privacy (or not), rather than being forced to no privacy at all.
